What makes up the cost

Professional fee

The conveyancer's work: reviewing the contract, searches, liaising with banks and agents, and settling through PEXA.

Searches and disbursements

Title searches, plans, council and water searches, certificates and identity checks, paid to government and third-party providers.

Government costs (not conveyancing)

Buyers also pay stamp duty and registration fees. Estimate them with our stamp duty calculators. Investors can check land tax.

Common questions

How much does conveyancing cost in Australia?

Published professional fees from online conveyancers we checked in October 2026 ranged from about $619 to $1,500 including GST, before searches and government charges. Searches and certificates are extra and vary by state and property.

What is the difference between professional fees and disbursements?

The professional fee pays for the conveyancer's work. Disbursements are costs paid to third parties, such as title searches, council and water searches, certificates and identity checks.

Do DJR Conveyancing fees include GST?

Yes. Our professional fees are fixed and include GST. Disbursements are shown separately in your instant quote.

Is stamp duty part of conveyancing fees?

No. Stamp duty (transfer duty) is a state government tax paid by the buyer and is usually much larger than conveyancing costs. Use our stamp duty calculators to estimate it.
